What is

THE YASS PRIZE

The $1 Million Yass Prize celebrates the country’s education provider which best demonstrates the STOP principles.  The Yass Prize advances the four core STOP principles: Sustainable, Transformational, Outstanding, and Permissionless education. Each year, they reward dozens of organizations, building a growing network of innovative providers that demonstrate these qualities in their commitment to new ideas, technologies, and approaches to learning that bring education into the 21st century.

MindSprout Montessori has been named a 2025 Yass Prize Contender—often called the “Pulitzer of education innovation.” We’re one of just 23 programs selected from thousands of applications nationwide for delivering innovative, student-first learning aligned to the STOP principles: Sustainable, Transformational, Outstanding, and Permissionless.

The STOP Principles
at MindSprout

  • Sustainable & Scalable. Our program is nearly 100% funded by tuition; multiple programs (full-time, hybrid, a la carte) create diversified revenue. Dreams Unlimited, our nonprofit arm, expands access through scholarships—supplementing, not sustaining, operations.

  • Transformational Learning. Mixed-age classrooms, self-directed work cycles, and daily 1:1/small-group lessons led by certified Montessori educators. We personalize instruction using observation and MAP Growth to track progress without high-stakes testing—reigniting curiosity and confidence.

  • Outstanding & Permissionless. Learners grow faster, feel more confident, and families feel truly supported. Our independent structure lets us adapt swiftly without bureaucracy. So innovation isn’t a project here—it’s the way we operate!
